Hearts-a-Burstin'

This little beauty lives on the driveway.  I was forever intrigued and desirous to know her name.  I came across a book at the local library entitled North Carolina Wildflowers and guess who I found in it??  She goes by Hearts-a-Burstin' or Strawberry Bush....either way, what a stunning plant!

Ever wish you could just sit outside in the rain and let it wash your cares away??  Yeah .....me too.

I don't know the "proper" name for this bush.  I've only ever heard it called a Bubby Bush.  These little petals emanate a fragrance reminiscent of warm apples and a hint of cinnamon. A dear friend, who passed away from cancer last year, gave us this treasure.  It blooms beside the side door.....

Apparently this little guy was drawn to the same display of color that I was...

This little lady proves you can blossom even when your back is against the wall <3
